Why personal profiles are not supported
Prepost is built for business and creator publishing workflows. Facebook does not allow third-party scheduling tools to publish to personal profiles through the official API.
For Facebook publishing, connect a Facebook Page instead of a personal profile. The personal Facebook account is used only to approve access and find Pages the user can manage.
Page admin requirement
The person connecting Facebook must have the correct admin or management access for the Page. If they can only view the Page, Prepost will not be able to publish for that Page.
Before setup, ask the user to confirm:
- they are signed in to the correct Facebook account;
- the account has management access for the target Page;
- the Page is active and not restricted;
- the beta release currently has Facebook Pages connection enabled.
Missing page troubleshooting
If the expected Page does not appear:
1. Confirm the user is signed in to the Facebook account that manages the Page. 2. Check Page access in Facebook's professional dashboard or business settings. 3. Restart the Prepost connection and approve all requested permissions. 4. If Facebook shows a permission selector, make sure the target Page is selected. 5. If the Page still does not appear, ask another Page admin to try the connection.
Do not connect a different Page just to finish setup. The user should pause and fix access first.
Reconnect instructions
Use reconnect when Facebook access expires, the wrong Page was selected, or the Page permissions changed.
- Open Connected accounts in Prepost.
- Find Facebook Pages in the account list.
- Choose Reconnect.
- Complete the Facebook authorization screen again.
- Select the correct Page if Facebook asks.
- Confirm the Page appears as connected in Prepost.
If reconnect does not show the expected Page, disconnect Facebook Pages from Prepost, sign out of Facebook in the browser, sign in as the correct Page admin, and start the connection again.
