Connect social accounts

Platform limitations

Understand what each core MVP network can require before publishing works.

Why limitations exist

Prepost uses official platform paths where possible. Each social network decides what third-party tools can connect, publish, schedule, or retry.

This means some setup steps happen outside Prepost: account type changes, business/page access, app approval, permissions, or manual completion inside the social app.

Core MVP networks

Prepost treats these networks as the core MVP direction:

  • Instagram;
  • TikTok;
  • Facebook Pages;
  • LinkedIn.

Telegram is a later add-on network for this product direction, not a core Czechia/Slovakia MVP dependency.

Instagram

Instagram publishing requires a Business or Creator account and a linked Facebook Page. Personal accounts are not enough for the official publishing flow.

If Instagram is not connected:

- confirm the account type; - confirm the linked Facebook Page; - confirm Page management access; - reconnect through the current Prepost beta environment only when Instagram is enabled there.

TikTok

For the MVP, treat TikTok as a short-video workflow. Some posts may require manual completion depending on TikTok app permissions, account status, or beta environment readiness.

Advanced TikTok features such as stickers, filters, complex audio editing, or multi-video workflows are outside the first MVP path.

Facebook Pages

Prepost is built for Facebook Pages, not personal Facebook profiles.

The person connecting Facebook must have the correct management access for the Page. If the expected Page is missing, fix access in Facebook first instead of connecting the wrong Page.

LinkedIn

The first LinkedIn path is a personal profile workflow. LinkedIn Page support should be treated as a later extension unless the current beta release notes say it is enabled.

What Prepost should show

When a limitation blocks publishing, Prepost should show a clear state instead of hiding the problem. The expected states are:

  • connection not enabled in this beta environment;
  • account type unsupported;
  • permission missing;
  • manual publishing required;
  • retry available;
  • failed with a readable reason.

Threads

Threads phase 1 supports text up to 500 characters or one public image with text. It is a separate target from Instagram. Video, carousel, replies, quotes, reposts, polls, topics, locations, and advanced reply controls are not exposed. Real delivery requires approved Meta access, a public HTTPS callback, and media that Meta can retrieve from a public HTTPS URL.
