OAuth connection
When LinkedIn connection is enabled for beta, open Connected accounts in Prepost, choose LinkedIn, and continue to LinkedIn's authorization screen.
Review the requested permissions, approve access, and wait until Prepost brings you back to the dashboard. The connected account should then appear in the Connected accounts list.
Profile vs page support
The first LinkedIn path is for a personal LinkedIn profile. LinkedIn Page support should be treated as a later extension unless the current beta release notes say it is enabled.
If a user expects to post as a company, confirm whether their Prepost workspace supports LinkedIn Pages before they start setup.
Permission errors
Common LinkedIn connection problems:
- the user denied one of the requested permissions;
- the LinkedIn session belongs to the wrong person;
- the account does not have access to the expected company page;
- LinkedIn returned an expired or invalid authorization code;
- the Prepost beta environment is not yet approved for the real LinkedIn flow.
If permission fails, ask the user to restart the connection from Prepost instead of refreshing the LinkedIn authorization page.
Reconnect instructions
Use reconnect when the account is expired, disconnected, or connected to the wrong LinkedIn identity.
- Open Connected accounts in Prepost.
- Find LinkedIn in the account list.
- Choose Reconnect.
- Complete the LinkedIn authorization screen again.
- Confirm the correct profile appears in Prepost.
If reconnect keeps failing, disconnect LinkedIn from Prepost, sign out of LinkedIn in the browser, sign in to the correct LinkedIn account, and start the connection again.
